I learned everything I know about the value of a cigar humidor from my Grandfather Ray. He was so passionate about a good Cuban cigar that he kept them in the best condition possible. He explained to me that a cigar humidor keeps the cigars at their optimal freshness and it made them age very well.

When my Grandfather Ray was retiring from the Air Force, we knew there would be a big party for him. I began to make lists of people he had worked with and had kept touch with him over the many years he served. The list kept growing until I finally had a complete list of friends and relatives. I knew he would want to smoke cigars with many of his old coworkers and that he would want to show of his cigar humidor.

My mother and I made all of the arrangements for food and drinks to be delivered. My grandmother had the house decorated and ready to receive guests. When guests started to arrive, my grandfather was no where to be found. I thought of the one place he was bound to go and I was right. He was by his cigar humidor selecting the perfect cigars to be smoked that evening. I knew there was no getting him away from the cigar humidor until he was ready, so I began taking guests back to him. Before we knew it, the party was going on by the cigar humidor. My grandfather's pride and joy was shared with everyone the night we all told him how proud we were of the duty he had served our country.
