cuban cigars

Perhaps no other product on Earth is the subject of more secrecy and hypocrisy than Cuban cigars. Despite the official embargo on all products from the Communist island of Cuba, how many of America's high rollers, including many top legislators, secretly enjoy Cuban cigars? In an excerpt from a book entitled The Terrorist Watch: Inside the Desperate Race to Stop the Next Attack, it is revealed that an FBI agent purchased Cuban cigars to smoke with deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein at a final meeting after months of interrogations into Saddam's atrocities and various criminal acts. What's shocking about this is that you have an FBI agent explicitly violating US law by purchasing Cuban cigars. Fans of Cuban cigars, please note: it is illegal for any American to purchase Cuban cigars for personal use, even if you are not on United States soil. Although it is rarely enforced, any American who purchases Cuban cigars or other products is liable to pay fines of up to $250,000 and can spend up to 10 years in jail. As it turns out, buying Cuban cigars for Saddam Hussein was an illicit, if common practice by agents of our government. So why not cut the bullshit and just life the embargo on Cuban cigars so smokers can enjoy their high-quality smokes in peace?
