cuban cigarsCuban Cigars are normally associated with rich powerful men such as oil tycoons and political heavyweights. They epitomize strength and maleness. The World War 2 prime minister of Britain Winston Churchill, for example, is known to have loved smoking Cuban cigars. Although we live in a supposedly enlightened, politically correct nation in which misogyny is frowned upon, we still don't expect to see a woman smoking Cuban cigars. I was, therefore, a little surprised to learn that female Hollywood celebrity Salma Hayek lists Cuban cigars among her vices, along with margaritas. Hayek claims that Cuban cigars relax her. I respect Salma Hayek for admitting to this, especially since most other female celebrities would never dream of confessing to such a thing. It implies that Hayek doesn't give a fig if the public deem her unladylike, or have any respect for the embargo against Cuba. I think it would be hilarious to see pictures or video footage of a dark, sultry beauty Salma Hayek puffing away at a Cuban cigar at a celebrity bash. I would especially enjoy watching the indignant reactions of other anti-smoking celebrities.
