Are a newer brand of cigars that were originally introduced in 1968. Cohiba became one of the number one brands of the Cuban cigar industry. This cigar was initially developed as a medium bodied protocol cigar for presentations by officials of the cuban government. Cohiba was widely marketed in the beginning of the year 1982. The sizes that first came out for the brand were the Lancero, Corona Especiale and the Pantela, with the Esplendido, Robusto and Exquisito added in 1989. In 1992, in honor to the 500th anniversayr of Columbus discovering the Caribbean, the Siglo series was introduced. Production of this cigar was initially made in the El Laguito factory in Havana, but production now takes place at the German factory.
