Cuban Cigars and Nicaraguan Tobacco |

Hey everyone. I have heard from 2 different non-cuban cigar makers that Cuba has imported Nicaraguan tobacco in the past to make up for the shortages in the Cuban crop. I have never seen or heard of this in any publications, and I do not believe the information. Since the 2 sources I heard this from are not related, I began to question it myself and wonder if there is any truth to this claim? Is this just a rumor that is making its rounds amongst the cigar community? If it is true, it would cast doubt on any cigar that is coming out of Cuba and the claim of being pure Habanos. Does anyone else have any information on this? |
